Step straight into nature from your lodge and discover multiple places to spot wildlife. Over the past few years, we’ve regularly heard tawny owls around our small park, watched bats fly by at dusk, and seen roe deer, pine martens and foxes stopping by for a drink at our little pond in the meadow. With so many birdsong around you, you’ll quickly understand why we keep outdoor lighting to a minimum.

Just around the corner, within walking distance, you’ll find the Herikhuizen wildlife observation point, a great spot where you have a high chance of seeing deer, wild boar, roe deer and other animals. It’s a beautiful walk in the direction of Beekhuizen, and wildlife is often present along this entire route. The tawny owl also has a “regular” tree here, so don’t forget to look up! You’ll also come across Icelandic ponies and Scottish Highland cattle roaming the area.

What makes the location of our accommodations extra special is that several popular parking areas (including Elsberg) are closed. In addition, the Posbank is closed to traffic on weekends and throughout July and August. From your lodge, you can cycle or hike straight to the best wildlife hotspots and viewpoints: peaceful, car-free, and right in the heart of nature.
