The Lodges on the Posbank are located on the edge of Veluwezoom National Park, in Rheden (Gelderland), at the foot of the famous Posbank nature reserve. This diverse landscape is perfect for relaxation, hiking, cycling, mountain biking, or road cycling. Bike rentals and cozy restaurants are just a short walk away, allowing you to fully enjoy nature and the surroundings.
Our small holiday park is nestled in the forest with a view over an open meadow, creating a rich biodiversity. From woodpeckers and buzzards to deer, wild boars, and foxes – with a bit of luck, you may spot them right from your holiday home. Even the wolf has been sighted in this area. Sustainability and biodiversity are important to us: we have planted a forest garden, installed beehives and solar panels, and sown the meadow with a special flower mix to support the ecological balance.
Close to the park, you’ll find the Natuurmonumenten Visitor Center and the wildlife observation posts in Herikhuizen, where you have a high chance of seeing wild boars, deer, and stags. The village of Rheden is only a 15-minute walk away. Besides forests, heathlands, and sand drifts, the area also offers fantastic swimming spots on warm days: the sandy beaches of Giesbeek and Lathum are perfect for a refreshing dip. You can reach them in 15 minutes by bike (via the ferry) or 20 minutes by car.
This region has so much to offer that a weekend is hardly enough! Discover the historic charm of Arnhem, Doesburg, Bronckhorst, and Zutphen, or visit the renowned Kröller-Müller Museum in Veluwe National Park. Burgers’ Zoo, Middachten Castle in De Steeg, and Rosendael Castle with its famous water features are also just a short drive away. There’s always something to explore!
