About the surroundings at Lodges op de Posbank

Lodges op de Posbank is located in the Veluwezoom National Park in Rheden, Gelderland. It is situated at the foot of the famous nature reserve called the Posbank. It is a diverse natural area where you can relax and engage in activities such as cycling, hiking, mountain biking, or road cycling. Bike rentals and restaurants are within walking distance.

Our park is nestled in the forest, next to meadows, which contributes to a rich biodiversity. From woodpeckers to buzzards, and from deer to wild boar, with a bit of luck, you can spot them in our backyard. Wolfs have also been spotted in this area. We prioritise sustainability. For instance, we have planted a woodland garden and sowed the meadow with wildflower seeds.

What is there to do in the vicinity of Lodges on the Posbank?

The visitor center of Natuurmonumenten (Nature Monuments) and the famous wildlife observation point at Herikhuizen, where you have a great chance of spotting wild boars, deer, and roe deer, are close to the park. There is so much to do in this area that a weekend is actually too short. Consider visiting Arnhem, Doesburg, the town of Bronckhorst, or Zutphen. You can also plan beautiful cultural and modern outings, including the Kröller-Müller Museum, Burgers’ Zoo, Castle Rozendaal with its “bedriegertjes,” and more. Everything is relatively close by.

The village of Rheden is a 15-minute walk away.

Rheden is a beautiful municipality located between the IJssel Valley and the Veluwe. Here, you’ll find river floodplains, glacial hills, as well as a train station and bus stops. The village has a public swimming pool with a large slide, and if you’re looking for a stay near a recreational lake, this is also a good choice. By taking the ferry with your bike, you can quickly reach the Rhederlaagse lakes on the other side. In short, there’s plenty to do in the vicinity. A nice little getaway. Enjoy your vacation at Lodges on the Posbank.
