Lodges on the Posbank
Since the 1950s, the Groenewoud family has owned Lodges on the Posbank in Rheden. After selling our horse farm, we started upgrading our park. Old chalets were replaced with modern, yet landscape-friendly lodges and cabins, while some chalets were renovated to meet today’s standards.
As part of our commitment to sustainability—and out of nostalgia—we have repurposed many materials from the former stables within our park. The exterior cladding of the lodges is made from the old pasture fences where our horses once roamed, and the picnic tables were crafted from wood from the horse stalls.
Sustainability is very important to us. Solar panels have been installed, and the meadow next to our park is sown annually with wildflower seeds to attract insects, especially bees. A beehive has already been placed, and fruit trees have been planted. Additionally, we are increasing our efforts to separate and recycle waste.
